Syed’s research experience includes studying signal transduction pathways of Rho-A and Rho-E, small GTPases involved in the regulation of the actin cytoskeleton, in their pathogenic involvement in hypertension and coronary artery disease. His research also includes the manufacturing and analysis of PBCA (polybutylcyanoacrylate) nanoparticles for drug delivery across the human blood brain barrier, evaluating drug delivery efficacy of nanoparticles with loaded medications in Alzheimer’s disease models. Syed has also been a Project Leader at Harvard-MIT Health Science Institute, where he led a team of various graduate and undergraduate students to create bladder tissue from single smooth muscle cells.
George Kaplan, CPA, (Masters of Taxation, Bentley College; BA Accounting and Computer Science, UMass - Amherst). George joined Immunotrex as its Chief Financial Officer in 2012. George is a Certified Public Accountant and founder of George Kaplan, PC–CPAs and Strategic Business Consultants, a Boston based accounting and consulting firm. George has a wealth of accounting and consultancy experience and an extensive network of business contacts.
Stephen Ouellette, (JD, Suffolk University, BA History, Lawrence University). Stephen Ouellette serves as General Counsel for Immunotrex, advising on a range of business strategies and organizational imperatives. Steve's experience spans 20 years as an independent attorney with a broad range of interests and professional legal expertise.
Rick Putprush, President REP Realty Advisors, (M.B.A., University of Houston; BS Civil Engineering, Lafayette College). Rick is a seasoned commercial real estate professional with 30 years experience in commercial real estate asset management, acquisition and negotiation. Rick specializes in complex negotiation and valuation and honed his skills at Exxon, Bank of Boston and Cushman & Wakefield. Rick was recognized by the Boston Commercial Brokers Association for the "Investment Sale of the Year.
Michael Graves (Ph.D Genetics-Oregon State University; BS Biology-University of Nebraska-Lincoln) Mike serves as a Scientific Advisor to Immunotrex, specializing in molecular biology. He is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell where he teaches molecular biology and virology. Mike's laboratory at UML focuses on the chlorella viruses that infect chlorella-like algae. His knowledge of viral transmission and cell-specific targeting mechanisms has been instrumental in developing Immunotrex's anti-cancer therapeutic Tranosyl.
Arthur Watterson (Professor Emeritus Chemistry, UMass-Lowell) Arthur joins Immunotrex as a Scientific Advisor specializing in nanoparticles, while also researching advanced materials at the Nanomanufacturing Center of Excellence, Center for Advanced Materials at UML. Arthur is involved in a number of nanotechnology projects with Immunotrex.
James Sherley M.D. Ph.D. (Founder & Director - Adult Stem Cell Technology Center) James joins Immunotrex as a Scientific Advisor specializing in tissue stem cell based technologies. Dr. Sherley has a distinguished career in cancer cell molecular biology and stem cell bioengineering. A graduate of Harvard University, he earned his M.D. and Ph.D at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Upon completion of post-doctoral studies at Princeton University, he held posts at Fox Chase Cancer Center and MIT, prior to joining Boston Biomedical Research Institute. He is a recipient of the Pew Biomedical Research Scholar award, as well as the NIH Director's Pioneer Award. Immunotrex is pleased to welcome Dr. Sherley to the scientific advisory team.
